We can provide assessments in a variety of fields including:
Our chronic pain specialist works with our clients to develop strategies for handling their pain. These may include lifestyle changes, dietary restrictions, neuro-blocker injections and other strategies. Specialists in psychology, psychiatry, behavioral science, and other areas may also play an important role in a comprehensive pain management program.
Our orthopaedic surgeon assesses and treats our clients' conditions involving the musculoskeletal system including, but not limited to, bone fractures. Our orthopedic surgeons use both surgical and nonsurgical means to treat musculoskeletal trauma resulting from an accident.
Our neurologists treat our clients who suffer from disorders of the nervous system, including the brain and spinal cord. Through the most advanced medical techniques, they assess the underlying problem, recommend treatment and prescribe medication for our clients.
These services are for our clients who suffer from jaw pain or who have disorders which affect their ability to chew, speak or eat. Our TMJ specialists work with our clients to explore surgical and non-surgical solutions to their pain and discomfort. In many cases, TMJ disorders can be managed without resorting to surgery.
Sleep disturbances are common following a motor vehicle accident. We offer our clients the opportunity to participate in a sleep study to record what happens to their body during sleep. We measure brain activity, eye movement, heart rate, breathing rate and air flow to measure sleep efficiency and to identify areas of concern. Our professionals then use the results of these studies to design and implement an effective treatment plan to restore our clients' sleep-wake cycle.
A Functional Abilities Evaluation (FAE) is a specific assessment performed by a registered physiotherapist, occupational therapist, or kinesiologist to help identify a client's physical work tolerances. The report outlines specific limitations our clients may face in returning to work. It can help to focus rehabilitation services to ensure a timely return to work for our clients.
Following an accident, some of our clients are eligible for attendant care benefits. These benefits are payable to our clients for expenses related to services provided by an aide. Our occupational therapists assess our clients' needs and complete a Form 1 in accordance with the requirements laid out by the insurance company. All assessments are done in a timely manner to ensure that our clients are receiving the help that they need.
In order to meet the definition of catastrophic impairment following a car accident, a licensed doctor must complete and submit an OCF-19 form. This form is called an Application for Determination of Catastrophic Impairment. If deemed Catastrophic, our clients are eligible for a greater amount of accident benefits, which allows them access to greater funds for treatment, attendant care and more. We help our clients during their application process and connect them with the specialists that help them support their claim.
Our speech language pathologists are highly trained individuals who work with our clients to treat cognitive and physical disorders which affect their ability to communicate. Some of the things they focus on are speech delays, language comprehension, fluency disorders and social communication skills.
Our social workers help to improve our clients' quality of life and enhance wellbeing by providing counseling services for the individual and their families. They will help to connect the client to important resources available to them and to reintegrate them into the community.
